Beyond Community Engagement
We create opportunities for local communities and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) to participate in carbon markets. We collaborate with IPLCs to find the tools, knowledge, and partnerships needed for them to be direct beneficiaries of climate action.

The California Carbon Market Collaborative (CCMC) supports the design and implementation of an ambitious and equitable California C&T Program through 2045 and beyond. The CCMC convenes a wide array of stakeholders to deepen mutual understanding and undertake careful examination of key design features of the C&T Program. Participants in the CCMC include Environmental Defense Fund and Pacific Gas & Electric.
Elevate Climate, in partnership with the Consensus Building Institute, designed and facilitated Environmental Defense Fund’s Dialogue on Carbon Markets and Equity.
Elevate Climate is leading various multi-stakeholder processes including: Puget Sound Energy's Resources Plan Advisory Group; US EPA's environmental justice grant funding in Vallejo, California; and a cumulative health impact assessment of hazardous waste facilities with community stakeholders in Detroit, Michigan.
